Let the battle commence

As you may have seen on the news recently, CricketScotland announced a first – Monday 18th August 2008 sees the first time Scotland has played against the full England team in an ICC One-Day International cricket match. The last time Scotland played England was back in the early 19th century.
The game will be held at the Citylets Grange in Stockbridge in Edinburgh, and promises to be a sell-out, with over 6000 spectators expected. Due to the capacity of the ground and the strength of the corporate hospitality market in the city of Edinburgh, The Citylets Grange was chosen as the appropriate venue for the event, a decision made in consultation with CricketScotland’s partners, sponsors and supporters. Tickets will be on sale early next year – a significant number have already been sold to the corporate sector.
Thomas Ashdown, our MD, said that, “A clash between Scotland and England means the build up for the game has already started. Perhaps we will even be able to persuade those not usually interested in cricket to come along for a good day out.”
We look forward to seeing you there!
